I.CORINTHIANS.12:4

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

GOD HATH SET SOME IN THE CHURCH

GIFTS DIFFERING ACCORDING TO THE GRACE

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, [let us prophesy] according to the proportion of faith;

Or ministry, [let us wait] on [our] ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

And said, her daughters... Now, if... They cannot be men. He never said her sons, said her daughters. Churches are represented in the Bible as women. And her daughters were prostitutes (See?), the same thing. What kind it was, how prostitute? Committing spiritual fornication against God's Word, holding onto a denominational rag instead of standing earnestly for the faith that was once delivered to the saints, instead--instead of going back and taking the Word of God.

See, a mother of prostitutes... If they're prostitutes, how did they become prostitutes? By committing fornications against the Word of God. If the Word of God said, "Repent and be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ," and every person in there was baptized in Jesus' Name, and then you take Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, that's prostitution. Is that right? And if the Bible baptizing is by immersing ("baptizo," from the Greek word), then how do you get sprinkling and pouring? Where does that come in at? If you substitute shaking hands, or taking a wafer on your lip and swallowing it, or something another like that for the Holy Ghost. And the Holy Ghost came from heaven like a rushing mighty wind and filled the people, and made them speak in tongues, and shout, and act like a drunk person; and you substitute shaking hands, or put your letter in a church, or something like that; how are you ever going to get out of the way of committing spiritual fornication?

Just like Eve did, listened to--to the devil and caused all death and sorrow that ever struck the earth--come through Eve, because she committed a spiritual fornication against God by disbelieving His Word, and that's exactly what the churches are doing today, committing spiritual fornications against God's Word. And they won't even have you in the church if you don't agree with their doctrine.

There's no more... You don't have to sin every day. You don't have to do these things. You do it because you willfully want to. And the reason you willfully want to is 'cause you have never died to yourself. Oh, brother. I know that's scorching, but it's good. When you die to yourself then you become a new creature. And if you try to act like you've got them before you have, it's like a--I said the other day like a blackbird trying to put peacock feathers in his wings, say, "You see, I'm a--I'm a peacock." He isn't. That's something he's stuck in hisself. It has to grow from the inside out.

And that's the way the Holy Spirit is. It's not something you smear on or something like that. It's a new birth. You've got to be borned again. And these virtues of the Holy Ghost has to come from the inside out. And when world and sin, and cutting hair, and painting comes out against the Word of God, it shows the Holy Spirit's not there. That's a direct evidence.

So what would you call it? Pentecostal prostitution (That's exactly right.), committing spiritual fornication with the God of heaven. What a shame, a disgrace it is. Oh, that's horrible. Yes, sir.

Now just let us stop a minute here and rehearse what we brought out about the worship in Thyatira. I said that they worshipped Apollo (who was the sun god) along with the emperor. Now this Apollo was called the 'averter of evil.' He turned evil away from people. He blessed them and was a real god to them. He was supposed to teach the people. He explained about worship, and temple rites, services to gods, about sacrifices and death and life after death. The way he did this was through a prophetess who sat entranced upon a tripod chair. My! Do you see it? Here is that prophetess called Jezebel and she is teaching the people. And her teaching is seducing the servants of God and causing them to commit fornication. Now fornication means 'idol worship.' That is what its spiritual meaning is. It is an illegal union. Ahab's union and Constantine's union were both illegal. Both committed spiritual fornication. Every fornicator will wind up in the lake of fire. God said so.

You know the biggest story that was ever told, the biggest lie that was told is one that's got a whole lot truth in it. Now, the biggest lie was ever told, was what Satan told Eve. See, it had a whole lot of truth in it. And now, you come around and say something is really right straight out a lie, why, you wouldn't believe that; you know better. But when it comes to a place where it's got about ninety-nine percent truth and one percent lie, that's the deceiving type. That's the kind you have to watch, is them kind. And that's just what the devil's good at. He told Eve everything truth, but one thing. See?

He said, "Now, you--you don't know what's right and wrong; you don't know good from evil. And now, if you'll take this fruit," said, "your eyes will be opened, and you'll know what's right and wrong. And you'll be wise; you'll know like God." Well, that's true. That's exactly. All that was the truth.

But she said, "God said we will die."

He said, "Oh, surely you won't die." And he persuaded her. Now, that's where--where the lie come.

Now, we can preach all around everything and leave off the main fundamental root of it, and there's where the lie comes. You see? There's where the trouble comes.

And if that isn't a beautiful picture of this day, that when men are trying to unite together. And we should be united, but you're uniting under the wrong systems. Did you ever notice how the Devil patterns off the things of God? Did you ever see that how he takes the things that God has purposed?

And so deceiving is the wrong thing. Now, a lie, if it's just right out a real lie, then anyone can detect it. But that lie that's got about ninety-nine percent truth in it, that's the one that's deceiving.

Now remember, the Devil takes a whole lot of that Word, pretty near ninety-nine and ninety-nine percent of It. Ninety-nine hundredths and ninety-nine percent of that hundredths, he'll make It just exactly right, but then he'll jump off here, and that's the one that causes death right there. That breaks the chain right in the middle; down you go.

Every Word. What did Jesus say? "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word." Not by a few of God's Words shall he live, not by ninety-nine and ninety-nine percent of God's Word. But by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God, man shall live by That.

Satan took Him up there and said, "It's written." See, just like he said to Eve, "It's written. It's written."

Jesus said, "And it's also written..."

He said, "It's written, `He'll give the Angels charge over Thee.' The Bible said so." Boy, he's a scholar. "It's written, `He'll give His Angels charge concerning Thee lest Thou dash Thy foot against a stone, and bear Thee up.'"

He said, "It's also written, `Thou shalt not tempt the Lord Thy God.'"

Now, if one little twist of God's Word caused every death, every sorrow, every heartache, everything, the troubles we've been through, just to twist one little Word of God, and they didn't get by with it...

It's cost us six thousand years of heartaches, and even the Son of God that come to the earth and died to redeem the human race. Every war, every heartache, every unwedded mother, everything that ever happened wrong in the world was because one person disbelieved, believed ninety-nine and ninety-nine percent of God's Word, and just twisted a little teeny bit at the end, and caused all this. Then one twist anywhere... Don't think you'll ever get back anything less than the entire Word of God. Believe It. Stand on It. We got to say just as It said.

Now, people join. They think it's all right (That's right.), presuming it's all right. Preachers go ahead preaching that kind of a dogma. And knowing the Bible says another thing, they'll preach it anyhow, presuming they're right. What is it? "Taking the tradition of men's and making the commandments of God of non effect."

They have--they have a part of the--the Gospel. They preach a part of it, sure, take a part. Satan took pretty near ninety-nine percent of the Gospel that God told Eve, and admitted that it was the truth. But when it come to this one little thing, he said, "Now, I don't say it isn't true. But surely, you know that that was the days gone by. You--you'll be like this." See?

What is the biggest lie that was ever told? It's got ninety-nine percent Truth in it. If somebody said, "William Branham, on this certain date, was up yonder in Houston, Texas, drunk as he could be." That's a lie. See? "Oh," say, "no, he was in Phoenix, Arizona. He was preaching to Christian businessmen, he preached on a certain subject, so many people was there, they listened till about ten-thirty. And, at ten-thirty, you know what he done? Reached down and got a drink of liquor, and took it." Now there is a lie. The rest of it was all true. See, it has to look just exactly like the truth, to be deceiving.
