HINDERED BY UNBELIEF

BEHOLD.A.GREATER.THAN.ALL.IS.HERE_ SPOKANE.WA SUNDAY_ 62-0715

E-119 Let's bow our heads now while we pray. Our heavenly Father, we're going to pray one for the other, confessing our faults one to another. God, let every man and woman that's here now be forgiven of their sins, because hands of the Gospel is going to be laid upon the sick and the afflicted.

God, if they did any sin that would cause them to be hindered, I pray, God, that You forgive them of their sin. And we know there's only one original sin, and that's unbelief. "He that believeth not is condemned already." And we know that unbelief is the only sin that there is.

JEHOVAH.JIREH.1_ LOUISVILLE.MS THURSDAY_ 64-0402

E-23 So He said, "Separate yourself from all your kindred, everything, all of the unbelief that come down from Babylon up there." The first great organization in the world was Babylon, when it organized all the cities to pay tribute to this one city--very type.

All these isms and new things see today... If you ever read Hislop's "Two Babylons," and so forth, and get back in Genesis, you'll find out Genesis is the beginning, the seed. You'll see all these isms and things right placed right in there. See the self-starched Pharisees that come down from there, from that woman with them curious roots, and so forth, come right down to the days of Jesus. Pharisees didn't believe in spirit or nothing else. And they hindered Jesus.

Jesus said, "Let them alone. The blind leads the blind, and they both fall in the ditch." He went right on preaching, and healing the sick, and performing miracles, and just the same. They didn't stop Him, because He was the Word. The Word goes right on, regardless of what takes place. So we find those things go on, and they finally come to the blossom here in the last days. As Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so will it be the same thing.

ABRAHAM_ BROOKLYN.NY SATURDAY_ 56-1208

E-87 Now, Christ loves everybody, and He wants everybody to love Him, and this is His kindness to you, that You might love Him, and believe Him, and have faith in His finished work for you. Now, be real reverent. I know it's getting late, but if you'll just stand for just one more, and don't move around, I'll appreciate it. See? You are a spirit. If you wouldn't, you'd be dead, and your spirit sometimes when unbelief becomes so dense it hinders. You remember Jesus Christ. Well, you say, "Brother Branham, that's psychology." Is it? Then why did Christ take the man out of the multitude to heal him? Then why did Christ put all the unbelievers out of the house before He could raise Jairus' daughter? See? The eye is the gate to the soul, and when you're looking this way, and classing it as something else, as I know you are some (see?); then that's a hindering. See? God be merciful to your unbelief. See?

QUEEN.OF.SHEBA_ WATERLOO.IA SATURDAY_ 58-0125

E-55 Now, just be real reverent. Don't move for just a few minutes. Set still. Don't get nervous; just relax. Just--just relax and submit yourself to the Holy Spirit; watch what He will do.

All right, lady, you may stand right there. This is a picture like was in the Bible: a man and a woman again. As I said last night, it was a woman the first one. I have no idea who's coming up here. The boy takes these cards and mixes them up and gives them out to you. Now, anybody that wants them can have them. And here you come; that's all.

Those out there don't have any cards. But what do I have these for? So that I can single you out. See, Jesus when He went to heal a man one time, He took him away from the crowd. When He went to raise Jairus' daughter, He put all the people out of the house. See, each person is a spirit, and if the spirit is unbelief, it hinders. He went to His own city, and many mighty miracles He could not do because of their unbelief. See? But where there was faith, God moved. Where there was no faith, God moved out.

MESSIAH.THE_ SHREVEPORT.LA TUESDAY_ 61-0117

E-11 Our heavenly Father, we are approaching Thy throne of grace and mercy. We come humbly in the Name of Jesus because we are sure that He will hear us, for He said, "You ask the Father anything in My Name, I'll do it." So that's the promise, that we know that is true. No matter how much our unbelief hinders it, yet it's true. So we're believing tonight with all that is within us, that You're hearing us.

We believe that You're here, and You will answer our prayers. Especially for those sinners who raised their hands, may they see the Light of God tonight. May this altar find them laying prostrate upon it, begging mercy for their sinful soul. Grant it, Lord. I pray for those that has not got the Holy Spirit in their life to guide them. May God come into that control tower tonight and take over, guiding their light and their life in this dark hour, when it's come to a time where nations don't know what to do.

But Thou art the Way, the Truth, and the Life. We're so glad that we ever found You, Lord, years ago, so precious to our heart. You're a present Help in a time of trouble. I pray for them, each one, that they'll be filled with the Holy Ghost tonight.

Bless the sick and the afflicted that's in the building and out of the building, convalescent, or wherever they may be. We pray for mercy for them, Father.

ONLY.BELIEVE_ CHICAGO.IL THURSDAY_ 61-0427

E-61 Oh, how hard it is when unbelief... Like last night when we was setting here in the meeting, that streak of unbelief struck this place, it was just... It was terrible.

One of these nights, I'm just going to reach right down and call them guys out. It's going to hurt a lot of feelings, but it's good... I used to do that all the time, and you know I did. But I--I've held--restrained from it, just because the feeling of the people, 'cause if you pluck up the--the tares, you get a lot of wheat too. See? So now, it's too close to the end time now. So we'll just go ahead, just keep marching. But when it--it--it hinders the people. It really hinders the people that can't have faith, that can't believe. See, when such as that is going on.

And so, then when He got everything out, everybody but just, His faith, hope, and charity, standing there: Peter, James and John, the faithful ones, and the real believing father and mother, He walked over to the corpse. Oh, See? He couldn't have done it, standing there, all them saying, "Why, look at that? A prophet, and says she's asleep. Now, I told you, told you, told you. See how it is? That--that... There's nothing to it. It's just a big bunch of emotion, workup; that's all there is to it."

Jesus couldn't do a thing about it; He couldn't do a thing about it tonight. When He come to His own country, not anything--many works He could do, because of their unbelief. And them carrying on like that, neither could He do it then, and He cannot do it tonight. But if He could just ever get them shut out to a place that He could be with the believers...

Then He walked over to the corpse that was laying there. The little girl was dead, perhaps, embalmed and laying out. Walked over and took her by the hand, looked out there into the space world, yonder somewhere where her soul had went, and said, "Maiden, arise."

How could death exist in the presence of Life? The little girl, the wrinkles on her forehead begin--her smooth little forehead begin to wrinkle, and her eyes come open. He took her by the hand, and raised her up, said, "Give her something to eat. And don't, just don't say nothing about it. Let them alone out there. Don't tell them nothing; just--just go ahead. (See?) Let it go."

LETTING.OFF.THE.PRESSURE_ S.PINES.NC SATURDAY_ 62-0609E

E-78 Now, that you have confessed your sins, now that you believe, do you believe that you have beat every shackle off of your understanding, that nothing hinders you? There's not one thing in your way, but you believe you're free? You believe that all the unbelief is gone from you? You believe that you're now in that haven of rest? You believe all the pressure... "Will I be healed? Can I be healed?" You're already healed.

"Brother Branham, if you'll lay your hands on me..." My hands ain't got nothing to do with it. It's His hand. If you're a sinner, you've already been saved. Just believe, and accept it, and act on it. If you're sick, you're already healed.

Would God stand here and do a thing like that, and let a hypocrite that somebody don't know what they're talking about, come here and would--would vindicate a--a liar, would vindicate a hypocrite? God doesn't deal with sinners. God deals with Truth, and His Word is the Truth. I've told you the truth.

PERSEVERANT_ SALEM.OR THURSDAY_ 62-0719E

E-60 There was a fellow told me not long ago, said, "I don't care how many people you'd heal, or so forth like that." Said, "I don't believe in healing."

I said, "Certainly. It wasn't for unbelievers. It's just sent for believers. That's all it's for: just believers." Oh, your unbelief gets you nowhere, just hinders you. That's all. It don't stop God. God goes right on doing it just the same.

They said, "You can't get the Holy Ghost. It was only given for the twelve apostles." That don't stop God. He goes right ahead doing It, people getting It. They might not be able to explain it, but they got It just the same though.

I can't tell you how a black cow can eat green grass, and give white milk, but she does it. Just exactly right. So I can't explain it. I don't know how it's done, but it--it happens anyhow. I don't try to explain it. If you can explain God, then it's no more faith. Everything that you get from God comes by faith. Amen. You can't explain it. You can't explain God. You believe God. Amen.

FAITH.IS.THE.SUBSTANCE_ OAKLAND.CA SATURDAY_ 47-0412

E-34 So then this girl, she said, "Oh, I believe, I believe, Brother Branham." Well, she thought she believed.

Now, look, she had hope. But faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. You see what I mean?

Now, I said, "Sister, an ordinary case," I said, "I could have a little time and let you have time, maybe to take about that much faith and go out with it. But you've got to have immediate attention, right now. For I'm going to be honest with you. You'll not live to see the hospital."

Now, the parents didn't appreciate that very much at that time. But I'd rather be honest with you, let you know the truth... Wouldn't you rather I'd be honest with you? And remember, friends, I'm not wrestling with flesh and blood; it's spiritual power. I must be honest before Almighty God. See? And because I realize the danger of my own life, and not only mine, but yours. And so she said she would--she believed, but she did not.

"Well," I said, "now, look." Now, I want you to notice this, and I want you to be real careful now and take up every word so you can divide it, of a little something that God permitted there. And I'll see if you've got faith. I said, "Sister, you do not have faith."

She said, "Oh, Reverend Branham, I have faith to believe anything."

ISRAEL.AT.KADESH.BARNEA_ JEFF.IN IC 97-128 SATURDAY_ 53-0328

217 Jeffersonville, why do you reject It, when God's vindicated It, sent His Angel took the picture of It? It's known around the world, why would you think It was some kind of a--a make-belief something?

Are you without God tonight? You'd love to know Him really. You know you want that kind of a salvation before you die.

Here sometime ago in this very city, there was a young girl belonged to a certain church here in the city; she thought she was all right. Her pastor told her she was all right. She made fun of a little girl come to church, 'cause she wouldn't go to a show. She said, "Your pastor is narrow-minded."

The little girl said, "That's all right."

ISRAEL.AT.KADESH.BARNEA_ JEFF.IN IC 97-128 SATURDAY_ 53-0328

220 After while she got out with some rough company, and she caught a disease and let it run too far. The doctor, a certain doctor of this city, went to examine her; come to find out, she was eat up with venereal disease. She died right after that. They... She was a Sunday school teacher in this big church. They were all out there, and to see her go to heaven. And just about time, her Sunday school class in, her pastor walking out in the hall, smoking a cigarette. And when about time for her to take her flight, the Angels to come get her, she raised up, she said, "Where's there's the pastor?" They went and got him. She said, "You deceiver of men," said, "why did you let me get in this shape? I'm lost."

Don't worry; Adam knew he had fig leaves on when he come before God. It was all right when God wasn't near. Said, "Why did you let me go like this?" Said, "Where's that little old girl from up there at that Tabernacle?"

"Oh, she..." He said, "You're--you're--you're hysterical, going to call a doctor to give you a hypo.

She said, "You deceiver of men, I'm lost, and my soul is going to hell on account of you." She bowed her head.

EXPECTATION_ SHAWANO.WI SATURDAY_ 55-1001

E-32 So this woman, finally, she got--fell in love with a man, neighbor. And she left her husband, and run off, and married this man, and continued playing the piano in the church. And after while, she left him and married another one. And she thought she was doing all right.

WHERE.I.THINK.PENTECOST.FAILED_ SAN.FERNANDO.CA FRIDAY_ 55-1111

E-94 What was it? "The soul that sinneth, it shall die." The soul, that inside conscience that told her she was wrong, that may be telling you same thing tonight, she'd went to her intellectual parts, and believing with her--with her mind, and had grieved away that Holy Spirit. It didn't speak to her no more. She thought she was right, as much as she had to believe with, her mind. And then, Brother Neville walked out.

I said, when he told me, I said, "Watch her at the end of the road now; just watch."

PAINTED.FACE.JEZEBEL_ CHICAGO.IL FRIDAY_ 56-1005

E-49 And Jehu was a man of God; that didn't go with him. He was the right kind of a pastor. He was a real evangelist. He said, "Who's for me and God up there?"

And two of her eunuchs had enough gall about them enough, said, "We are."

Said, "Throw her out the window." Amen. Say, he got rough, didn't he? And when she hit the street the blood splashed on the horses and up on the chariot. Said, "Let her lay there," and drove on over her. He didn't know even want... He was still in the will of God. For the Word of God will work with the will of God always.

GOD.MAKING.HIS.PROMISE_ BROOKLYN.NY SUNDAY_ 56-1209A

E-64 "But what's--what's the thing, Brother Branham?" God is looking and trying, and moving, and begging, and persuading to find a little heart that He can come into and coo and make love to.

Remember how He took Adam and Eve before the world was--before sin came into the world? Look at Adam, what a beautiful type. Adam and Eve was a type of Christ in the church. Now, remember, Eve did not sin. Adam sinned. That's right. Not Eve, Adam sinned. See? Not Eve, she was the one who did the act, but Adam done the sinning. The woman was deceived.

The Bible said she was deceived. She thought she was right. But Adam knowed it was wrong. See? And now, look, when Adam saw Eve had sinned and had done wrong, Adam walked right out not deceived but with both eyes open. But he so loved Eve that he took her place in death with her and walked out with her. You know that?

And that's exactly what Jesus done. The church is guilty. The church sinned. That's right. But Christ come and was made sin, and took the place, and walked with His church, and condemned sin in the flesh, that He might redeem His Bride back to Him again. What a beautiful picture, friend.

How the Holy Spirit's wanting to come to the church, how He wants to come in and make you gentle and kind and peaceful and quiet, instead of all this carrying on. See? He wants to love you. He wants to win Hisself to you. He wants to see a play of heroism. He wants to see someone, not stand up and scream or--He wants to see somebody who can stand up and be a--a lamb. He wants to see somebody who can take their place as a lamb.

LIFE_ BANGOR.ME MONDAY_ 58-0519

E-8 And when the Lord had pronounced on this little woman that she was going to be all right, she was healed, well, she went outside thanking the Lord. So she thought she could just go on, be all right. And she goes and tries to eat. Oh, did she get sick. So then in a couple of days, kept getting worse, and she'd try to eat and force it down her, vomit it up, bleeding. So she said...

The people in the neighborhood began to think after a couple of weeks... And her husband said, "Honey, I believe that you testifying like that, you're going to bring a reproach upon the cause of Christ."

And she said to her husband, "If that man stood there, just a man under inspiration, and told me the things that I had done in my life, told me what caused the ulcer and what happened, it--and what condition it was in, and told me, 'THUS SAITH THE LORD,' the vision showed that I was going to be well, do you think I would doubt that?" She said, "Reproach or no reproach, it would be more reproach for me to doubt it." How right she was.

ZACCHAEUS.THE.BUSINESSMAN_ TUCSON.AZ MONDAY_ 63-0121

E-34 So, we find out that this man did not believe that, this little businessman of the city of Jericho. He had a great business and he thought he was doing all right. And he had favor with the priests and with the synagogue. He had favor with the churches, and the Kiwanis, and--and many of the organizations of that day, as we would say. Still that doesn't mean God yet.

Prosperity never means God always. Sometimes it's the vice versa. God said... when you was setting in the field, told Israel, in her own blood, then she was willing to serve Him. But when she got sufficient (she thought she was.) then didn't want no more to do with Him, turned her back upon Him.
