48 Then this man here, that's what I think that atheists and some of them standing around arguing. But the hour has come when God shed forth His Light; there's a hour here that when God's doing things. That's right. And so now when they argue, "Well, his feet look like a bear, and his hands look like a--a ape or a--a monkey, or so forth," they try to say his origin come that. That has nothing to do with it. This is the body of flesh that he's just living in, like a house, it's going back to the dust of the earth. But the spirit is immortal; it comes from God. That's the image of God. God is a Spirit.

man out of the dust of the earth. There was no man to till the
soil, no one to do work, no physical being. So He made man out of
the dust of the earth.
Now, there's where I think that a--a botanist, or--or science and Christianity, does not conflict one with another. Because science says, the man came from different a life; and we say, when you look at a man here, he's in the image of God. This is, was not the image of God to begin with. This was the image of animal life. And he... And the evolutionists argues that we... I don't believe in the chain of evolution the way they do, all coming from the single cell.

different from God, then God was not just. It wouldn't be right
for me to send my son to pay a penalty of some penalty I'd put on
somebody else.
If I said, "Whosoever looks at that will die." And then first thing you know, Brother Beeler there would look at it. And I said, "Brother Wood, you take his place." I wouldn't be just. If I said, "Billy Paul come down here and take his place," I wouldn't be just. If I say to my wife, "Take his place," I still wouldn't be just. And God is sovereign and just. And the only just way I could reconcile that man would be me take his place myself. That's right. And God came down; as man was made in the image of God, then God came down in the image of man in Christ Jesus, and dwelled in that tabernacle of flesh and took the sinner's place, and died the death, and paid the penalty, redeeming us from sin. Hallelujah. God was in His Son reconciling the world to Himself. Do you believe that?

13-13 If you notice in creation, the first thing that was created, of course, was light. You come on down through the creation; the last thing was created was what? A man. And woman was made after man. All right, the first... Last thing that was created of God's creation is mankind. But when God made His first man, if you noticed, He made him in the likeness of Himself; He was made in the image of God. And what is God? Now, if we can find out what God is we can find what kind of a man He made.

See? In a prefigure He made the woman and the man before they was ever formed out of the dust of the earth. And then God made the man, not in His Own image. This body's not in the image of God; this body's in the image of beasts.

Then when he sinned, he separated hisself from his Maker. And then God, the Logos, the very Creator of him, came down and was made in the image of man. Man was made in the image of God, and then he was made in the image of beast, and he fell. And God came down in the image of man, in the Man Christ Jesus, to suffer pain. God could not suffer pain in the Spirit. How could He suffer physical pain in the Spirit? He couldn't do it. So God unfolded Himself and was made in the image of man, to redeem the man that was lost. See? And then God suffered in the flesh. I Timothy 3:16, "Without controversy (that's argument), great is the mystery of godliness; for God was manifested in the flesh, seen of angels, preached on...?... and believed, and received up to the right hand of the Father." Is that right? God Himself came down and lived in a human body and suffered temptation. "God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself." See what love is, the love of God?

E-13 Man before he was this man, he was a spirit man. God made the first man in His Own image. How many says that's right? Well, what kind of a image has God got? He's a Spirit, is that right? So He made a Spirit man 'fore He made a flesh man. Then He put man in five senses to contact his earthly home. He might've give him hands like a monkey, and foot like a bear, I don't know. But anyhow, that wasn't the image of God. God's a Spirit. But then God came down and was made in the image of man to redeem man back to Himself when He was made flesh and dwelled among us. And we go right out of this redeemed life, from this redeemed life into that immortal life again in the supernatural body, then back into flesh again, just like God, bring us right back to the garden of Eden again, just the same thing.

E-12 Though you can't see it, none of the senses will say it's right, every one of them will say it's wrong; but you know it's right because God said so. That's what makes it right. Now, that's... His provided way has been His Word; it is His Word. God's provided way for the human to live is not by your senses; it's by His Word. Now, God put man first in His own image, which was in a image of God. And God is a supernatural Being; He was a supernatural Man. And then He put him in five senses, and none of those five senses declare his heavenly home. Those five senses declare his earthly home. And God give him five senses to contact his earthly home, and not to contact God. His sense, these--these five senses control the human body, and two senses control the inside man. That's faith and unbelief. And you possess one or the other tonight.

Then He made man out of the dust of the earth. That's where I think botanist and so forth, get their chronologist and gets all scrupled up. When you realize that man in his five senses to contact his earthly home, is in the image of beast, not in the image of God. Man made in God's image was spirit man. |
