  E-21    Also in Sodom and Gomorrah, just before destructions come to Sodom and Gomorrah, there were two angels that were sent down into Sodom to find out how many righteous people they could find. And there was a righteous man there, and his name was Lot. Though he wasn't too much to speak of, but yet, he was a righteous man. And the Bible tells us that their sins a--a perplexed his righteous soul daily. In other words, it got on his nerves so bad to see the way the people were doing in sin.
And there's people like that in Chicago, today, that can walk down the streets of Chicago, in a lovely big place like this and a wonderful nation like in the United States, and see the things going on, of taverns, and beer, and drinking, and amusement, and half dressed women and men on the streets, lusting about--a lustful things. It absolutely torments the soul of a righteous soul, or a man that has a righteous spirit in him, to see that his own kinsman, as human beings, can drop down so low, below the standard of God's requirement. And yet, those people think that they're just as well off as anyone else. But in the midst of all of that, then we must realize that these things are signposts.

And when Lot was there, just before the destructions of that place, there came two preachers or two angels, came down from glory and tried to have an old fashion revival in that city to bring the men and woman back to God again. But the people were so indifferent towards them, and so lustful, till their lusting spirit had a hold of them in such a way, until they could not make any headway for a revival. What was it? It was a sign. When those angels entered the city, it was a sign that either repentance must come soon, or destructions would follow.

  41    Now, but now cancer in the body or cancer in the soul, the demon can come in either place. Now, there's many times and many peoples with good thoughts that--and good people who try many times to--to rest upon some little theology they have or something that they have been taught since a child, and still find that down in their being, down in their soul, that they still have something that's not right. You... Many are here this morning, no doubt, wherever you find Christians gathered together you find people who have those spirits in them that they... It's undesirable. They don't want them. They say, "Oh, if I could only quit lying. If I could only quit lusting. If I could only quit this or that." Now, that is devils. And now they come in the form of religion, many times.
Being it's Sunday School, it's a time of teaching, so let's look into this. Now, they come in the form of religion many times.

Confess your sins in the Presence of the Blood of Jesus; and the Life that come from that Blood, comes back to the worshipper and sanctifies Him from the desires of the things of the world. "Now there's no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, to them that walk not after the flesh, but the Spirit." If you're trying to walk by the Spirit, and still lusting for the flesh, the Sacrifice hasn't been sufficiently applied to you. But the worshipper once purged has no more desire of sin.

  163-261    If you profess to be a Christian and have not been that kind, you're still a sinner, no matter what life you--you've done or how you try to make yourself. What you do is not accepted. It's what He done. Your own righteousness won't be accepted. If you quit smoking just because you said, "Well, I better quit smoking because I profess Christianity," God don't accept it. If you quit lusting after women just because that you're making yourself do it, God don't accept it. That's something you do; that's works. It's grace that saves you. Has God come to you and taken the whole thing out of you? That's the next thing.
You say, "I joined church, and so I had to quit these things." God didn't accept that. Nothing you can offer, He only accepts what Christ give. He gives you Eternal Life and takes it from you. Will you receive It?

Regardless of what goes or comes, there's going to be people that's going to be ready. And we know that there's a tithing that man gives to God, and there's a tithing amongst the people. Perhaps maybe we'd say a tenth of all the world's harvest, through the ages will be that elected that's been called.
O Father, we pray as we're laboring here, all of us together, searching through the city, trying to bring in sinners, trying to do something for the Kingdom of God... We go down in the city; we watch the indifference. We see it. And as Lot in Sodom, it vex our soul's daily, to see women smoking cigarettes and--and claiming to be Christians, and drinking, and carousing, and wearing immoral clothes, and--and man lusting, and... oh, the sin of Sodom... Our hearts are grieved within us, Lord.

  94    The disciples had total deliverance, absolutely total deliverance. Why? Because they were completely and totally filled with the Holy Ghost. When you just a church member and shook the pastor's hands, or some... had some kind of a little experience of jumping, shouting, or speaking in tongues, or something another; and still have malice in your heart, strange acts, telling lies, smoking cigarette, lusting after women, there's something hasn't happened yet; there's something wrong, "For he that loves the world, or the things of the world, the love of God's not in him." You've been misled. "By their fruits you shall know them."
