What would those parents think of that contractor, for the love of money, caring not about his reputation, and done a job like that? Oh, my, they'd think he was a horrible person. And he would be...

What do you think the Los Angeles people thought of that contractor who built the Saint Francis Dam? About twenty-five million dollars was put in it, a little lower than any the other bidders. But all at once, when the flood waters begin to press against the dam, the sandy conditions beneath it wasn't fit right, and the material that went into it was not the right kind of material, and while the valleys laid silent with sleeping people trusting in that dam, the whole thing gave away, and hundreds of people's lives was destroyed when the waters swept down through that valley, taking the lives of the people.
