          NOT BY WORD ONLY

E-5 ONLY.ONE.TRUE.LIVING.CHURCH ERIE.PA 51-0727

Now, the Gospel, commonly believed, is the Word of God, and that is true in one sense. But the Word of God is not Gospel alone. The Word of God is the Seed that produces the Gospel. Jesus said a sower went forth and sowed seed. And some fell onto the stony places, and some fell by the wayside, and the fowls of the air devoured them. Some fell upon thorny thistle ground; some went over and brought a hundredfold.

Now, the seed, you people here who are a farmers, every seed will produce if it's in the right kind of a ground. And every Divine promise of God in the Bible will produce if It's met in the right kind of a heart. It'll produce the promise. If you have need of salvation, believe that He saves you and accept His sacrificial death, and you shall receive what you've asked for. If you're weary and gloomy and feel like that everyone's against you, "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." That's a seed. Accept it. And if you're sick, "He was wounded for our transgressions, with His stripes we're healed." "Accept it. It's a seed: will produce.

When you sow a seed, you don't dig it up every morning to see if it's come to pass. If you do, your seed will never come up. You got to plant it, commit it to the earth, and let it alone. It's up to nature, God, to water it and to see that it produces. Is that true?

So that's the way you do the Word of God. Accept it in a good heart, already fertilized, and all the creepers, and the rocky places, and the stony doubts taken away, and in good rich soil of faith, and believe it, commit it to God, and walk away, testifying that you have received what God has promised you. And He's the High Priest of your confession, to make right anything that you confessed that He has done. That's the Gospel. Now, the Gospel isn't only the Word.

Could you imagine people freezing to death, and I would paint them a picture of a fire. I'd say, "Look at the fire burning. Isn't it warm? Look at the people standing around, warming." But that's only a picture of something that has been. You'd freeze just the same, looking at the picture. What it takes is that fire to be reproduced again for your warmth.

And the Gospel that was in that day, it's written in the Word as a history, a painted fire of what was. Accept the same seed that they accept, and it'll be a living reality in you, that'll bring you into the same experience that they had.

Say, "Rev. Branham, is that the truth?"

According to the writings of the Scripture, the great Saint Paul said, "The Gospel come to us not by Word only, but through power and demonstrations of the Holy Ghost."

And when Jesus commissioned the church to go into all the world and preach the Gospel: Mark 16, "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, and he that believeth not... And these signs shall follow them that believe..."

Well, Jesus found that same thing when He come to the earth. He found the Pharisees, the Sadducees, and what-more, the different orders, or organizations and creeds of that day. What did He say to them? "By your traditions you have made the commandments of God of non-effect." See?

I think that searching God through creed or through denomination, it only thing it does, it gets it so mysteriously fixed up, and then you find out that it comes right back and denies the Word, comes right back and makes the commandments of God of non-effect. For instance, you try to find God in saying the Apostles' Creed. And then you come back to find Mark 16 to be made a reality to you, "these signs shall follow them that believe"; why, they'll tell you right quick, "Well, them days of miracles is past!" Then what does it do? It takes the Commandments of God and makes them of non-effect; see, they're not effective, the commandments of God.

His commandment is "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature." Now, the Gospel came not by Word only, but through manifestation of the Word, demonstrations of the Holy Spirit making the Word live. See, it's the Spirit taking the Word.

11-3 RISING.OF.THE.SUN JEFF.IN V-3 N-12 65-0418M

We, as beneficiaries, are to prove His Life is in us now, the beneficiaries of this Life. The Life... There never was a life lived like it; He was the Son of God. And He died and that shut it out; but when He raised again from the dead on Easter morning, then we, as His servants, are commissioned by Him to go into all the world and to bring this good news to every person: that He is a-living. And how can we do it by word only? For it is written, " The Gospel came not by word only, but through the power and the manifestation of the Holy Spirit to prove that He is alive."

DEMONSTRATE THE GOSPEL

E-5 SPEAK.TO.THIS.ROCK JONESBORO.AR 53-0512

Now, the Gospel is not altogether the Word. This is the Word of God, and all things must be based upon this Word. If it isn't, it isn't true. This is... But Jesus said, "Go ye in all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature." Now, He did not say "Teach the Word," He said, "Preach the Gospel."

So the Gospel consists more than teaching the Word, for Paul, confirming that, said, "The Gospel came to us, not in Word only, but through power." Demonstrations of the Holy Spirit would come and demonstrate the Gospel, bring the Word to a living reality.

If you just receive the Word by knowing the Word, that doesn't do you any good. "The letter killeth; the Spirit giveth life." Then you must be borned again, and then the Holy Spirit quickens the Word to you. In other words, like a grain of corn, if it's laying in my hand, it's just a grain of corn, it'll never be nothing else. But bury it, it comes contaminated, molds, and then it brings up another grain of corn just like it.

E-29 CONFIRMATION.OF.THE.COMMISSION TEMPE.AZ 62-0122

Now, and if the Holy Spirit, which is God's Word, or the power of God's Word, comes in with God's Word, it'll make God's Word display Itself. "Go ye into all the world and demonstrate the Gospel to every creature. (See?) He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe." What a beautiful setting that is. If we would just go deep now and listen, that was the credentials that was to hang onto every man that went forth preaching the Gospel.

And no man has a right to preach the Gospel without the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Jesus would not let Peter, James, John, any of the rest of them, preach the Gospel until they waited in the city of Jerusalem until the Holy Ghost had filled them, because it's the Holy Ghost that makes the Word of God go into action. See?

YOU HAVE TO BE INSPIRED WITH THE WORD

E-16 POSSESSING.GATE.OF.THE.ENEMY DENHAM.SP.LA 64-0322

Now, watch. All down through they were a type of the church--all the way through. Now, look. Here's what happened. Now, He just didn't patch Sarah up and patch Abraham up. He turned them back to a young man and woman. Now, that may seem strange, but now watch the rest of the Word and put it together. The Word is inspired. You have to be inspired with the Word. Now, remember, Immediately after that... immediately after the appearing of this angel...

GET BACK TO THE REAL WORD

E-69 SIGN.OF.HIS.COMING CLEVELAND.TN 62-0407

What we need is get back to the Word. Get back to the real Word of God, and bring forth a Bride to Christ and the Word. True, back to the Word. Let the organization... That's all right. Nothing against it. But everybody's... "Just got to pull a few punches, you know," because if they don't, they get put out. God have mercy--pulling punches. Tell the truth, or shut up. Yes, sir. Just say it the way it's wrote; see if God don't confirm it. I challenge you to believe it. I know it's the truth. See?

But you got to stay right with the Word and believe It, not just slip over here this way and that way, and say, "I'll peck and try." You don't do that. No, no. You've got to come with a whole heart. "It's Your Word, Lord. I believe it." God will make it... It'll go to work right then. Yes, sir.

IF IT CAN'T STAY WITH THIS WORD, IT'S NOT THE HOLY GHOST

E-31 POSSESSING.GATE.OF.THE.ENEMY DENHAM.SP.LA 64-0322

Try to think of it. Many think they got the Holy Ghost. Many claim to have the Holy Ghost. Many can show many evidences and signs of it. But still, if it can't stay with this Word, it's not the Holy Ghost. See? You believe every word, then you're sealed after the test. When we believe every promise in the Word, then we are sealed by the Spirit to confirm the promise. That's what Abraham... the way he did it. Then, and then only, have we the right to possess the gates of our enemies. You cannot do it until first you become that seed.

GOD STAYED WITH HIM IN HIS MISTAKES

36 AS.I.WAS.WITH.MOSES JEFF.IN V-16 N-2 60-0911M

And to Joshua, the new commander of the army after Moses had passed on, seeing that God stayed with him in his mistakes, he held his commission up...

No matter what Moses done, it was Moses' office that God respected. He was a prophet; he was above all the prophets; he was really more than any prophet they had. When his own sister laughed at him for marrying an Ethiopian girl; He called them together, and He said, "Don't you fear God?" Said, "If there be one among you, who's spiritual or a prophet, I'll speak to him in visions and make Myself known to him in dreams. But it's not so with Moses; I speak lip to ear with him. Don't you fear God?"

See, that's not a good thing, to tramp upon God's people. You hurt Him when you do so. God had commissioned Moses; his failures meant nothing. God knowed his heart.

GET AWAY FROM THERE

266-606 HEBREWS.CHAP.6.PT.3. JEFF.IN HEB 57-0915M

And a man that's borned of the Spirit of God becomes a dove of God, his nature, his change, his makeup. Yes, sir. You put the spirit of the--of the dove in the crow, he'd never set on a dead carcass. If he lit down by mistake, he'd certainly get away quick; he couldn't stand it.

And a man that's borned of the Spirit of God, don't in-tolerate. He might light in a barroom sometime, but he will get out of there quick. A woman might entice him, get him turned around, but he will turn his head again. He will get away from there quick. Why? He's a dove. That's right. You ain't going to fool him, because that he knows. "My sheep know My Voice, and a stranger they'll not follow." He's a dove to begin with. That's what I'm speaking about, the actual something that anchors in there.

206 PERGAMEAN.CHURCH.AGE JEFF.IN ROJC 229-285 60-1207

Go back to that original Pentecost. Don't get away from there. If when you do, you're lost. Stay with that blessing. That's it, the Blesser of the blessing.

E-12 BE.CERTAIN.OF.GOD CLEVELAND.TN 59-0708E

Wherever you leave Him; that's where you'll find Him. He will never walk in sin with you. You might be a good American, or a good church member, but God will never walk in sin with any person or any nation, or any church. He cannot tolerate sin. It's a evil, horrible stink in His nostrils. He will not do it.

E-32 HAVE.NOT.I.SENT.THEE PHOENIX.AZ 62-0124

Where you leave Christ at by failing to obey His Word, right there He will leave you. Or you don't leave... He don't leave you; you leave Him. See, you always leave--leave Him, because He's got you in the path, He's trying to lead you. But see, when you leave Him, then you have to come right back where you left Him at, to start again.
