 PRAY FOR THAT PERSON

THINKING.MAN'S.FILTER_ JEFF.IN V-5 N-6 SUNDAY_ 65-0822E

16 As--and as the days grow closer and closer and the narrowing of the path, we--we want to go closer together. My, we must be just one--one Body. We must move together, forgetting one another's sins and our differences, just sticking closer and closer and closer as we see that day approaching, assembling ourselves together, all with one accord and one heart. And if a brother, sister gets out of the way in any way, don't do nothing but pray for that person and in love always considering one another. Don't--don't never let one of you get away. Stay together. And if you can, add more to it constantly all the time.

WHY.ARE.PEOPLE.SO.TOSSED.ABOUT_ JEFF.IN V-2 N-14 SUNDAY_ 56-0101, 4-2 I did. I got me a job with Brother Wood, back there, moving houses and things. And so, I just went to work, got me a job. It hurt my wife and Billy. They said... Billy said, "Dad, I'm sure you're doing wrong."

I said, "No, I'm doing right. I keep my promise." See? I told him, I said, "My promise... No matter what it is, if a man is not as good as his word, I don't want to... You can't trust him, because he's not no good. See? There's one thing that a person must always be: that's honest. Be... Tell things so that--that you can go back and tell it a million times, and it'll be the same thing. You see? Just be honest. No matter if it's bad, or whether it's good; be honest. And if it's against you, say it anyhow; or keep still; don't say it at all. See?"

THEY HAD THUS SAITH THE LORD

ANGEL.AND.THE.COMMISSION_ CLEVELAND.OH MONDAY_ 50-0821 E-38 Now, remember. The gift was borned here. I had nothing to do with it coming. No one--no one, friends. Don't never let anyone deceive you. Gifts are sent from God alone. God alone is the foreknowledge...

Now, there's nine spiritual gifts in the church. They might be on--like on this man tonight, and on that one over there, so forth like that. But prophecy of that type, and so forth, has to have two or three witnesses to as--look over it, and judge it, and see if it's right or not.

But you never see them stand before Isaiah or Jeremiah, or any of them to judge them. They had THUS SAITH THE LORD from their birth. And everybody knowed that what they said come to pass. They had the Word of the Lord. And in div--in old times, divers places God... At sundry times, God spoke to us by the prophets, but in this last days has spoke to us through Jesus Christ.

JEHOVAH.JIREH_ CHARLOTTE.NC SUNDAY_ 56-0429, E-63 But now a prophet... now look. Jeremiah... well, we just... so many. We take Moses, he was borned a prophet. Elijah, John the Baptist went right into the wilderness. See? A prophet... There's...?... Zechariah.

God told Zechariah, said, "Before you was even formed in your mother's womb, I knew you, and sanctified you, and ordained you a prophet to the nation. Is that right? All the way up they had, THUS SAITH THE LORD, not... No judges standing before them. They had the Word of God. That's right.

God in sundry times and divers manners spoke to the Fathers through the prophets. But to this last day through His Son, Jesus Christ, the resurrected One.

Now, if He's standing here with these prophetic gift and all kinds of gifts operating in the church, you ought to believe Him. Will you do it?

TESTED.FAITH.PRODUCES.GOODS_ BANGOR.ME SUNDAY_ 58-0518, E-52 Now, you don't lay hands on one another for them gifts. God has set in the church. Jesus Christ was the Son of God from the garden of Eden, predicted the seed of the woman. John the Baptist was the voice of one crying in the wilderness seven hundred and twelve years before he was born, the voice of one crying in the wilderness. How many know that? Sure. How many knows that Jeremiah 1:4 says, "Before you was even formed in your mother's womb, I knew you, and I sanctified you, and ordained you a prophet to the nations." Gifts and callings are not what somebody's done; it's what God has done. They're born; they're raised up with them; it's what God has done.

Now, He calls some of us to preach, some of us to teach, some of us with different spirits of operation. Now, there's twelve--or nine spiritual gifts in the local body. See? Now, there's a gift of prophecy; that could be on any person in here tonight and maybe never on them again. That just comes and goes. There's quite a difference between a spirit of prophecy and a prophet. A spirit of prophecy is to be judged by two or three that has discernment before it can ever be given to the church. Don't... When the old prophet stood, Isaiah and Jeremiah, they had THUS SAITH THE LORD. They were born from cradle up.

QA.ON.THE.HOLY.GHOST_ JEFF.IN COD SATURDAY_ 59-1219

440-128 Now, now, here's what happens. Then the Holy Spirit broke, 'cause that was just... "Blessed is he who believeth." Two, three nights straight I tried to lay that in there; and then the Holy Spirit spoke and said (under inspiration)--said, "Blessed is he that cometh in the Name of the Lord." And before I could say anything, I'd done said it over, "Blessed is he who believes the Lord has come in this." You see? And I've just been talking this; the Holy Ghost is God Himself in you. See? And they'd caught it. See? And then the Holy Ghost fell among the people. See how It--it edifies, prophecy.

Now, there's a difference between prophecy and a prophet, Prophecy goes from one to another, but a prophet is born from the cradle a prophet. They have THUS SAITH THE LORD. No judging of them. You don't see them stand before Isaiah, or Jeremiah, any of them prophets, because they had THUS SAITH THE LORD. But a spirit of prophecy amongst the people; you have to watch that, 'cause Satan will slip in there. See? Now. But it must be judged.

JEHOVAH.JIREH_ LONG.BEACH.CA SUNDAY_ 61-0212M, E-14 Now, then, gifts, where Paul said, "I pray earnestly for the best gift." That's church gifts; that's not offices. There's a gift and then an office. It's an office, that's a prophet. There's a lot difference between a prophet and a gift of prophecy. Before a gift of prophecy really should be given in the church, it has to come before two or three judges that's got the--the gift of discernment, to say whether it can even be said. But never did you see anybody stand before Isaiah to judge it. See? He was borned a prophet. Them prophets, they were... They had THUS SAITH THE LORD right up through life. See? See, it's a lot of difference.

What the... Oh, I think what the church needs is a real good Scriptural lesson on things. And then there's no slip ups. If somebody gets up and speaks in tongues, one gives the interpretation... Now, I'm not a judge, no, but by discernment you can tell it. Some of it is purely flesh. They say, "Behold He cometh. Behold He cometh." and something like... Why, sure, we all know that. God said, "Don't use vain repetition," told us not to, and He wouldn't do it.

WHY.AGAINST.ORGANIZED.RELIGION_ JEFF.IN V-12 N-1 SUNDAY_ 62-1111E, 174 Now, notice history. Then they begin to add dogmas, dogma. And when Paul came over, we know, according to history, that he did not even visit that first church, because he could not stand idolatry. And he visited the second church which they had established, second church of Rome.

And when that Nicaea Council come, where Constantine seen the idea to unite his kingdom: the very same thing Ahab did with Jezebel, marrying down there... See? And when he seen a chance to unite his people and make a great powerful nation out of it, he thought they'd get their religion, so he made them a church-state religion. And when they had that Nicaea Council, and these questions come up whether there was one God or three; whether they should baptize in the Name of Jesus Christ, or Father, Son and Holy Ghost; all these other questions brought to--to a showdown in there. And when it did, some of them old prophets come up out there with nothing but sheepskin wrapped around them and eating herbs. Right. But them big dignitaries had already worked their way in the church, shut them up with worldly wisdom. But they had THUS SAITH THE LORD. She went into pagan darkness for about a thousand years.

But she broke forth again to bloom. That's right. You can't kill it. "I will restore, saith the Lord, all the years these things eat."

REPROACH.FOR.THE.WORD_ JEFF.IN V-2 N-16 SUNDAY_ 62-1223, 18-4 But now, I want to say another thing right here. Now, we look back and admire his faith. But I wonder if we lived in that day, would we have took the same stand that Noah took? Would we be able and willing to stand the reproach that went with the truth? When of all the millions there was in the world then, there was only Noah and his family that stood for that truth. Did you think of it? Just that man and his three sons, and his daughter-in-laws, his wife was the only one that stood for that truth; but they had THUS SAITH THE LORD. We look back and admire him.

Could we think again? (I got to hurry because of these kiddies' presents.) Abraham--the very word "Abraham" means "father of many," make him a father of nations.

Now, Abraham heard the Word of God. Abraham was a prophet, and he heard the Word of God. And we admire Abraham for his holding to God's Word: how that he separated himself from his kinfolks. How hard it was for Abraham; He was brought up there. Come down from Babel and--and was down there in the Land of the Shinar, the--the Chaldeans and the city of Ur, where all of his associates, his people, and those he went to church with, and everything.

204-4 PERGAMEAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.5

Now someone might ask me, "Brother Branham, what makes you think that Moab was organized while Israel was not? Where do you get that idea?" I get it right here in the Bible. It is all typed out here. Everything written in the Old Testament that is in story form is written for our admonition so that we can learn from it. Here it is right in Numbers 23:9, "From the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him; lo the people shall dwell ALONE, and shall NOT BE RECKONED AMONG THE NATIONS." There it is. God looking down from the top of the rocks, not in some valley looking for their bad points and condemning them. God seeing them the way He wanted to see them--from the height of love and mercy. They dwelt ALONE and they weren't organized. They didn't have a king. They had a prophet, and the prophet had God in him by the Spirit; and the Word came to the prophet and the Word went to the people. They didn't belong to the U.N. They didn't belong to the World Council of Churches, to the Baptists, Presbyterians, Assembly of God or any other group. They didn't need to belong. They were joined to God. They didn't need counsel from any council--they had "Thus saith the Lord" in their midst. Hallelujah!

325-2 LAODICEAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.9

Since this prophet messenger of Revelation 10:7 will be the same as Malachi 4:5-6 he will be naturally like Elijah and John. Both were men set apart from the accepted religious schools of their day. Both were men of the wilderness. Both acted only when they had "Thus saith the Lord," straight from God by revelation. Both lashed out against the religious orders and leaders of their day. But not only was that so, they lashed out against all who were corrupt or would corrupt others. And notice, both prophesied much against immoral women and their ways. Elijah cried out against Jezebel, and John rebuked Herodias, Philip's wife.
