SPIRITUAL OPIUM by D.S.

LAW.OR.GRACE_ JEFF.IN V-26 N-7 WEDNESDAY_ 54-1006

105 Now, "Having therefore..." Now, the 19th verse. We got about twenty minutes; let's put it all into the Scriptures now. Now, the 19th verse.

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus...

Listen, here it is, Now, enter into the holiest place... There's a holy place, then the holiest place. Holy of holies it's called. The high priest went in once a year. And when he did, the first thing he had to do was to be sprinkled, himself. The ark was back behind the curtain.

And the high priest had to be anointed with the perfume made from the rose of Sharon. No other perfume would do. Do you know Jesus was called the Rose of Sharon? What is a rose? Where does perfume come from? From the rose. Where does...

Jesus was called the Lily of the valley. Is that right? Anybody knows where opium comes from? From a lily. The opium is brought from the lily. And what's the opium to do? Opium eases pain. When people are sick and suffering so tremendously, they're going out of their head, insane, they give them a shot of opium, and that settles it. They quieten. That's in the natural.

LAW.OR.GRACE_ JEFF.IN V-26 N-7 WEDNESDAY_ 54-1006

110 Jesus, in the spiritual, is the Lily of the valley. And when you get to such a place you can't stand yourself no more, and life means nothing to you, God's got a shot of opium for you from the Lily of the valley that eases all your troubles, all of them is gone away. You don't have to get drunk on whiskey to ease your trouble; they come right back again. But come and get a--a drink of opium from the Lily of the valley, and they're ended forever.

Let come, let go, what may; if you live, if you die, if you're this, or that, or the other, nothing separates you from the love of God that's in Christ Jesus. Christians are not promised a flower bed of ease, but they're promised grace sufficient for every need they have. Amen.

Say, I believe I feel religious right now. Think of it. Yes, sir. 'Cause when I get weary and wonder, I look over here and see this going on, that going on, but I think, "Wait a minute. My, my." See? There is the Lily of the valley.

GOOD.SHEPHERD.OF.THE.SHEEP_ PHOENIX.AZ FRIDAY_ 57-0308, E-41 Opium is to take away pain, take away sorrow. You become on a drunk with opium, like the narcotics of today. But as soon as that little opium plays out, you got a headache, and you're worse than you ever was. But this opium I'm talking about, from the Lord Jesus, it just doesn't run out. In Him is... "He that believeth on Me, has Everlasting Life. If thou knowest Who you were speaking to, I'd give you waters that you don't come here to drink, said the Lord, wells of water bubbling up in your soul." That's the kind of waters we need.

Now, we're going to call the prayer line tonight. 1 to a 100? 1 to a 100. Z did you say? P, all right. Prayer card P like in Phoenix. And let's start standing up somebody, somewhere. Prayer card, well, let's start at number 1, if he started off with 1, let's start with number 1. Bring off number... Who has number 1? Prayer card, like in Phoenix, P-number-1? Would you raise your hand? I can't see out in the audience. All right, lady, come here just a minute.

WATCHMAN.WHAT.OF.THE.NIGHT_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 58-1130

E-62 Never seen... There's His--His beard, His face, His profile, His arms hanging out. And I was standing right in like this and where He's got His arms, you can't even see a place of Him like that. My head, then my feet down at the floor; just head and feet, that's all there was left. See?

And He--He's standing with His arms right like this, and I've got my hands out like this a preaching, saying, "Say to this mountain." And about that time something took place, and they snapped the picture of it like that. And there it was behind. All in colors. And a big...

So as God does arrange a big basket of calla lilies setting close: He's the lily of the valley. And where do you get opium? Out of lilies. That's right. What is the opium God has? Peace. Opium just makes you forget all about your troubles. Opium smokers, that's how they kill themselves with that opium. God has an opium. Amen. He eases every pain, heals all sickness, takes every weary away. As long as we're breathing into His opium, we're at peace.

And the big basket of lilies was sitting right in front where I'm a speaking on the platform.

CHURCH.DEDICATION_ CLEVELAND.TN WEDNESDAY_ 59-0708M, E-37 And the great beautiful life that our Lord lived was instrumental in God's hand. But it could never be a perfume until He was crushed, and mashed, and spit on, and squeeze the very life out of Him at Calvary. That made the anointing for us.

He was the Lily of the Valley. What do you get out of lilies? Opium. What does opium do? It soothes pain. It puts you to sleep in a dream land. What does the Holy Spirit do? The opium of the Holy Spirit eases every pain, takes away every tear, mends every heartache. The Lily of the Valley...

WHY_ PHOENIX.AZ WEDNESDAY_ 60-0309, -47 Many don't understand it; you think the people are crazy till they get into it one time. Did you ever see a fellow drunk on opium? Why, he can get a hold opium, smoke a opium pipe, I don't care how sick he is, or what about it, all the whole world's just his, that's all. Now, that's of the world, the doctor's opium, but God has an opium. Where do you get opium? From the lily. He was the Lily of the valley, and at Calvary they crushed the opium out of Him. Now, you get a inoculation to every nation...?... Oh, these are not drunk on new wine; they're not drunk on strong drinks, but they're drunk upon this new wine, the power of God, the Holy Spirit pouring out upon them from on high. There's a way.

You said, "But, Brother Branham, that was for them people back there."

Oh, no, no, no, no. The people there said, "Men and brethren, how do we get inoculated?"

Now, they had a doctor in the bunch. Did you know that? Doctor Simon Peter. Yes, sir, "Oh," he said, "there's plenty of balm here. I'm the physician right now, give me your prescription."

"What must we do to be saved?"

He said, "Repent every one of you, be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, for the promise (the prescription) is good for you, and for your children, and for them that's far off. Even as many as the Lord our God shall call to be inoculated."

WAY.BACK.THE_ SHREVEPORT.LA FRIDAY_ 62-1123, E-63 You know, He's the Lily of the Valley. Opium comes from lily. We know that. Oh, how it is. When those pipe dreamers get a hold of opium, they think that's something. Oh, they ought to get inoculation of this one time. One does for all the time. It's not a pipe dream, but it's a reality of heaven that'll anchor back in your soul by the baptism of the Holy Ghost. It puts you to sleep--not asleep, but dead to the things of the world and alive in Christ...?... Christ living forevermore. It does something to you that no one knows nothing about but you. You was the one that got the serum. You was the one that got the inoculation. You know what it's all about. Why? You felt it, you knowed it. You seen what it did to you, done something to you. You're branded. Amen. You know where you belong.

DOOR.IN.A.DOOR_ TUCSON.AZ SATURDAY_ 63-0223, E-12 In the Bible, you know, the shepherd carried a scrip bag on his side. And many times in there he would carry little bits of honey. And when he got a sheep that was sick, the shepherd would go over and squeeze out a little of this honey on a limestone rock. And the sheep like something sweet too, you know. So he'd go over, the sheep would, and go to licking on that rock. He was licking the honey, but while licking the honey he got the limestone, and the limestone helped to heal him.

I've got a whole scrip bag full here of honey, and I'm going to put it on that Rock, Christ Jesus, and you sheep just start licking now. I'm sure it'll--it'll cure all of our ails if we'll just lick on the Rock of ages, and He'll certainly take care of the rest. He is our Healer of physical and spiritual discomforts. He is the Lily of the valley. And in the lily we find opium, and opium settles all matters. It just puts you in a daze, and that's the way the Holy Ghost comes. It puts you in a carefree condition where you don't care who's setting around or nothing about it. You got to let off the steam then; that's it.

Remember a little girl one time got filled with the Holy Ghost. She was a little Methodist too. And she was giving a testimony. And I never will forget the rude expression, no worse than what I make. And she said, "Well, I want to praise the Lord for this Holy Ghost." She said, "If it was any better, I'd bust."

TOKEN.THE_ BAKF.CA V-22 N-8 SATURDAY_ 64-0208

138 And when you accept His sacrifice Blood, then He gives us Life, the Life of the Token, and it is a promised seal: Ephesians 4:30, "Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed unto the day of your redemption." Then being baptized into Him, I Corinthians 12, we become part of His Body.

And in Him is the Fullness. In Him is all the sufficiency that we have need of. He is my Pleasure; He is my Life; He's my Joy, He's my... He's where... Now, I don't have to puff on a cigarette to get some kind of a relief. I take the Lily of the Valley. He's the opium. He's the thing that--that makes me walk in the clouds. He's my All-sufficient. He's my Hopes; He's my Rest; He's my God, He's my Saviour; He's my Healer. He's all that I have need of, because I die... We die in Him, and are baptized in Him, and in Him is all sufficiency.

SEED.OF.DISCREPANCY_ PHOENIX.AZ V-12 N-5 MONDAY_ 65-0118, 7 But I'll tell you, friends, that's only a type of the genuine Opium from the Lily of the Valley that I know of. He is the Lily of the Valley. He was squeezed out on Calvary. He was wounded for our transgressions; with His stripes we were healed. In that, that squeezing out of the flowers, He was a Flower. He was the greatest Flower that ever growed, was this Lily of the Valley, and this great Rose of Sharon. Now, He hangs tonight, spanded between heavens and earth, I believe, He was that time, rather, to--to take away the sin of the world and to bring healing back to the world. And the Bible said that He's the same yesterday, today, and forever.
