And then God Himself... All things are possible. God made the very world that we're sitting on tonight. This world, this world that we now are living on the crust of it, is nothing in the world but one Word of God made manifest. God spoke the world into existence. How many believes that?

And if he called them gods, who the Word of God come to, then why not Himself, being the Son of God, when He makes Himself equal with God?" Now, we are, in an amateur way we are creators.

Joseph was a god. The prophets were gods. The Bible said they were. They were gods because it--they had completely surrendered themselves to the Spirit of God, that they were working for the glory of God.

And when a man is so anointed with the Spirit... Now, let this go real deep under the fifth rib on the left side. When a man is anointed of the Spirit of God, his habits, his actions, and everything is God moving in him. Sometimes he's misjudged.

The Word of God comes into a human being and discerns the thought. Jesus perceived their thought. If that's right, say, "Amen." What was He? "In the beginning was the Word; the Word was with God; and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh." And He said, "You condemn Me because I call Myself the Son of God, and it's written in your laws that ye are gods."

Now, Isaiah 9:6, we just won't read it, but He was to be the everlasting Father, the mighty God. When God made man in Genesis 1:26, it shows (if you're putting that Scripture down, Genesis 1:26), it shows that God made man to be a god to begin with. Man was made to be a god, a lesser god. He was made in the image and likeness of God. He had hands like God; he had feet like God, eyes, ears, and intelligence like God, his whole fiber, because he was a son of God. And the--Jesus referred to him as god.

Jesus said, "How can you condemn Me, saying, I'm the Son of God? Isn't it written in your law that ye are gods? And if they call those gods who the Word of God came to, how can you condemn Me when I say, I'm the Son of God?" He was referring to the prophets, the anointed ones, lesser anointed. Jesus was so anointed that He was more than a prophet. Jesus was so anointed till He was the Fullness of the Godhead bodily. He was God. The prophets had the same kind of anointing, only in a lesser condition.

And in Genesis 1:26, when God made man, He made him a god, because He gave him a dominion, and he had rulership. He had power over the birds of the air, the cattle, over the winds, the waves, the--the fishes of the sea, everything. He had dominion over everything. He was a ruler, anointed a ruler, because he was in the likeness and in the image of God with an earthly domain. That's why the Bible says the earth is groaning, crying, waiting, for the manifestation of the Sons of God. The world is waiting for the man to come back into his right estate.

I want you to notice. That was just before the destruction now and before the promise was fulfilled. Watch just a moment now. After He'd him that, placed his name now, positionally placed him, called him through justification (You believe that?), his seed through justification, sanctification through the Blood, to the seed, filling with Hisself, pouring Hisself into him as El-Shaddai, the Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit... Now, placing him and giving him a part of His Name, Elohim, a small Elohim, and man was born to be a god.

Now, say that's wrong. Jesus said, "Does it don't stay in your own laws, 'Ye are gods'? And why do you condemn Me then, if Your own law says you're gods." He was given a domain; the domain was the earth. The whole earth is groaning, waiting now for the manifestations of the sons of God. If I'm a Branham, I'm a Branham; I'm part of a Branham. And if a man is a son of God, He's made in the image of God and given the domain here on earth to rule this earth like God ruled it. And the second Adam proved it. Amen. He stopped nature: "Peace be still." Amen. Cursed the fig tree... Certainly, He was a Man yet He was God; He was a manifested Son of God. That's what we're to be one of these days. We're just coming to it through justification, the seeds of Abraham coming up.

He's a great Contractor. Before He ever had a human being on earth, He laid out the material, like a contractor building a subdivision. He was going to make man in His own image and give them the earth to stay. And they were lesser gods than He was.

Jesus said, "Your law says that ye are gods." That's dominion, king's dominion over the earth. He could do anything he wanted to. And sin come in, and now woman brings child. And when it does, that child must die. See? It's exactly. It's a perverted birth. But then when the new birth comes in, it corrects that perverted birth and gives it Eternal Life through the Father, Jesus Christ.

Oh, brother. Jesus said, "He that heareth My Word... He that eateth My flesh, and drinketh My Blood has Eternal Life, and I will raise him up again at the last day." Amen. "All the Father has given Me will come to Me," and nothing is lost. Amen. He will raise it up again at the last day. Death or nothing else can separate us. We're always in the Presence of God. How I love that.

But if you've got genuine faith, then put genuine virtue to it, then genuine knowledge, then genuine temperance, then genuine patience. See, you're moving right on up the line. All right.

Fifthly, add godliness. Oh, my. Godliness to be added... What does godliness mean? I looked in four or five dictionaries and couldn't even find what it meant. Finally, I was down at Brother Jefferies there; we found it in the--in a dictionary. "Godliness" means "to be like God."

Oh, my. After you've got faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, then be like God. Whew. You say, "I can't do that, Brother Branham." Oh, yes you can. Let me just read you a few Scriptures here just a minute: Matthew 5:48. We'll take this one and see what it sounds like: Matthew 5:48, and see if you're supposed to be like God. You know the Bible says, "Ye are gods." Jesus said so. Why? All the virtue... All the things that's in God's in you. Matthew 5:48 "Be ye..." (Jesus speaking in the beatitudes) "Be ye therefore (p-e-r-f-e-c-t, what's that?) perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect." You got way up here now 'fore you have to do that. All these things has to be added first. Then when you get up here, He's asked you now to be perfect, godliness, sons and daughters of God. That's right. How many things I could say along that line.

Then why would we struggle for Eternal Life if that's the eternal soul breathed into us by breath. Why would we struggle for Eternal Life? It backfires, brother. See? It--it just can't do it. But God specially, upon Adam, breathed the breath of Eternal Life, and he become an eternal person with God. He had power like God: he was a amateur god. He was god of the earth, not God of Heaven now, god of the earth.

And someday the sons of God will again become gods. Jesus said so: "Is not it written in your law, `Ye are gods'? Then if you can call those who He called god, who God visited, how can you condemn Me, say, when I say I'm the Son of God?" See? Now, we're getting into something deep. Now, watch this when we drive it down.

What happened to it? What happened? The first thing it did, it hit the water, hit the Clorox. That chemical was so great till it sent all the way back. You can't see any fumes of it, or nothing else. It's gone. It'll never be no more, because it's turned back to the original place to where it come from.
